  1. Jose Alberto Torres: Psalms 23:4- "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me." What this verse explains is that David, the man walking in the valley of the shadow of death, will not be afraid of evil because he knows that God is with him and will be able to guide and shield him through the valley with His rod and staff. Additionally, the rod and staff of God comfort David and make him less fearful of evil as the rod and staff represent both leadership and the power of God.

  2. Jorge Perez Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness
    because of my enemies—
    make your way straight before me.
    He is telling the lord to lead him on to the right path and not let his enemies distract him and change him.

  3. Matthew 5:43-48 [Full Chapter]
    “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. ... My exegesis: What the gospel of Matthew is trying to say is that, you should pray for all people. You should pray for all people, even the ones who wait for your downfall because it is the christ like thing to do. In praying for your enemies, God will reward you for doing good.

    1. Ok. You cite Matt. Now cite a Psalm that deals with prayer! 80

  4. "Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me". Psalms 23:4
    My idea of this passage is that Jesus "The Good Shepherd" leads his sheep/children of god to green pastures or heaven basically, no need to fear "predators" or demons, demoniacs, or Lucifer straying you off your path when Jesus protects you. - Bryan Banfield

  5. [ Psalm 27 ] [ Trust in God ] Of David. [ A ] [ I ] The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The Lord is my life’s refuge; of whom should I be afraid? What David means in this Psalm is that there is no need to be afraid since he has the Lord as his light and guidance.

    1. Ok. Can we use the analogy of faith to link Matthew with Psalms?

    69:20 "You know my reproach, my shame, my disgrace;
    before you stand all my foes."
    This verse means God will protect a sinner from his enemies, if the sinner repents and is truly sorry for what he has done.

    Psalm 3:7 I do not fear, then, thousands of people arrayed against me on every side.

    This verse in Psalm 3 means that no matter how many enemies you have you should not fear because God is on your side and that is what is most important.

  8. Psalm 18:18 He rescued me from my mighty enemy, from foes too powerful for me. David is saying that God protected him(because God is a shield), even from the foes that were too strong for him to stand against. God was his support and he is giving thanks to God

  9. Mamadou Diallo- "Lord, how many are my foes!
    How many rise up against me!" The verse expresses the feelings of david as he is asking the lord why is he getting so many problems if god is good.

    Psalm 3:7
    “I do not fear, then, thousands of people
    arrayed against me on every side.”
    This verse indicates that when you have God on your side, you can be able to face any enemy, even if they are more numerous and surround you. This can also represent that if you are a man with the aid of God, can think you can face thousands of enemies, then God must be powerful.

    Psalm 54:7 reads “Turn back the evil upon my foes; in your faithfulness, destroy them.” What i find interesting about this particular biblical verse is that it states “Turn back the evil upon my foes”. Christians don’t believe in aggressive retaliation, so it’s an odd thing to hear. It certainly means that whatever evil is intended for him, he wants that same evil inflicted on his his enemies.

    Psalm 27:1 reads “Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The Lord is my life’s refuge; of whom should I be afraid?” I like this bible verse for the single that it expresses strong faith in God. This means the lord is everything we need. Materialistic items cannot make us as happy as God does.

    Psalm 27:1-The LORD is my light and salvation whom shoulld I fear? The LORD is my life's refuge of whom should I be afraid? This bible verse explains that we shouldn't be afraid of anyone but him and that we shouldn't run to anyone else for help but him.

    Psalm 3
    A psalm of David, when he fled from his son Absalom.[b]

    I
    2 How many are my foes, Lord!
    How many rise against me!
    3 [c]How many say of me,
    “There is no salvation for him in God.”
    Selah
    4 But you, Lord, are a shield around me;
    my glory, you keep my head high.
    II
    5 With my own voice I will call out to the Lord,
    and he will answer me from his holy mountain.
    Selah
    6 I lie down and I fall asleep,
    [and] I will wake up, for the Lord sustains me.
    7 I do not fear, then, thousands of people
    arrayed against me on every side.
    III
    8 Arise, Lord! Save me, my God!
    For you strike the cheekbone of all my foes;
    you break the teeth of the wicked.
    9 Salvation is from the Lord!
    May your blessing be upon your people!
    Selah

    What this verse means is that David doesn't want to have to fight. He believes that God is omnipotent and that he has the power to fight David's battles.When he says strike the cheekbone of his foes, David would do it, but he knows that God wants everyone to love his enemies,so David lets God do it.-Dhani Joseph

    This verse of Psalms shows how even though David has many enemy against him he is confident because god is a shield
