Saint Thomas of Canterbury went against the King of England by changing his luxurious lifestyle, he ate bread, drank water, had a luxurious bed but decided to sleep on the floor, he wore rich clothes but underneath wore horse hair shirt and it was very itchy, and he gave his expensive food to the poor. Then Henry passed a law but Thomas refused to agree with it.

Venerable Henriette DeLille went against church leaders and government leaders by refusing to live a sinful life and completely devoting her life to god no matter what and she started teaching a school called "St. Claude School" at the age of 14 and her mother did not agree with this what so ever.
